Disney twinned with Swindon

A special plaque is now in the England section of the Epcot park in the centre of Disney world which the company believe will help boost tourism here.

A special ceremony was held at Disney world on Tuesday morning with Swindon's mayor, Councillor David Wren in attendance, along with some of the Swindon media and judge Angellica Bell.  A plaque was unveiled to stay in Florida and a sign to be brought back to Swindon.  It is still to be decided where the sign will be placed.

Heart's learnt the twinning will only be for a year but it's still unclear about what will happen after that.

Disney say they'll be getting involved in lots of things in Swindon in 2010 including the Christmas light switch on and volunteering.
