Paul Tapner, who rides for Australia but is based in Highworth, has won Badminton Horse Trials in his 6th year at the event.

Paul won the competition on Inonothing.  Before the event Paul told Heart he was at his most competitive yet and was looking forward to the ride on his most experienced horse.

Tapner, 34, becomes Australia's third Badminton champion of the past five years, following Andrew Hoy in 2006 and Lucinda Fredericks a year later.  Tapner and Inonothing, held off the challenge of German Andreas Dibowski, with Britain's Daisy Berkeley - an Olympic bronze medalist in 2008 - third after a pulsating showjumping finale.

"This means everything,'' he said. "Every second of this year has been focused on this moment.

"This is the biggest and best event, and you just want to be here. It can't get much better than this.''
