The Upham Road centre which supports people with severe learning difficulties is planning to open a store in the tented market.

Organisers think it'll be the first of its kind in the country, as the store is mostly going to staffed by those with learning difficulties.

Managers and instructors at the Upham Road centre say it'll give their service users a chance to mingle with the community, and get used to the responsibility of having a job. It'll also allow the general public to interact and get to know them on a regular basis.

The centre's joined forces with the children's charity Barnado's and all the money raised in the shop will go to them.

It's hoped the store will open in June.

The finishing touches are being put in place, but staff are keen to start taking stock donations. Anyone who's able to help can contact the centre on 01793 535431.
