It's too early for the c-word

18th September: It's started already.

In the last week I've noticed Facebook status updates, tweets and even had the odd text from people talking about *whisper* Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Scrooge, but isn't it too early for the c-word? In my book, the c-word shouldn't be uttered until Bonfire Night's out of the way, at the very least. I mean, the leaves are barely turning red on the trees and already sleigh bells are being mentioned? WRONG!

I've seen pictures of trees up in hotel lobbies, posts about people finishing all their shopping already - and even had emails about the work *whisper* Christmas party.

Christine from Melksham agrees with me on this one. It's too soon!

Christine on the c-word

There's a whole debate raging about this on our Facebook page at the moment, with lots of people saying it's never too soon to mention the c-word. They don't agree with me that you can have too much of a good thing - or that getting excited this early on is just preparing ourselves to be disappointed.

What do you think? Is it too early for the c-word?
