Community speed watch scheme

A Community Speed watch Scheme has been setup in Mickle Trafford in Chester to reduce speed and improve the safety of our roads.

Motorists in the town are reminded to stick to the speed limits to avoid being clocked speeding by trained speedwatch volunteers operating the community speed gun.

Community Speed watch volunteers have been trained on the safe and legal use of the community speedwatch speed-gun.

Volunteers will also be fully visible at a distance to motorists using the roads they operate on around the town. Vehicles that are indicated by the speed-gun as travelling over the road's speed limit have their number plate recorded by volunteers. These details are then passed onto Cheshire Police who send a warning letter to the vehicle's keeper, reminding them of the dangers of speeding and asking them to reduce their speed when travelling through the area again.
