Kate's transparent dress up for auction

The transparent dress which is said to have helped Kate Middleton catch Prince William's eye has sold for £78,00

Kate, from Bucklebury in Berkshire, wore the dress during a charity fashion show at St Andrews University back in 2002.

It was designed by fashion student Charlotte Todd and is now getting attention from bidders all over the world - including the US, China and Hong Kong.

Auctioneers at La Galleria in London thought it would go for up to £10,000.

The final bid of £65,000 came on behalf of a man known only as "Nick from Jersey".

The total cost, including the buyer's premium, was £78,000.
