School girl robbery

A teenager has been robbed outside her school in Basingstoke.

The sixteen year old was walking along the footpath between The Vyne School and Gower Close during the lunchtime on Monday 22nd March, when a man targetted her.

He threatened her and stole her mobile phone before demanding she hand over the £12 she was carrying on her.

The man is thought to be around twenty five years old. He's described as white, around 5ft 4ins tall and an average build. He was wearing a light grey hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms or jeans.

PC Sarah Milles said, "There may have been people in the area when this robbery happened during the afternoon.

If you were in the area at the time and saw anything unusual, please contact us as soon as possible.

We would remind people to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings when walking alone and always report any suspicious people to police."
