Fire At Bath Jewellers

Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a jewellers shop in Bath city centre.

Four crews were called out to Nicholas Wylde in Northumberland Place after alarms sounded in the shop and members of the public reported seeing smoke and fire.

Three fire engines and a turntable ladder were sent to the four storey building in the city centre. When crews arrived they were faced with a fire involving the ground floor shop and first floor storage area.

Firefighters used water jets and hose reels to tackle the blaze. Crews in breathing apparatus were also involved in bringing the fire under control.

The Royal Family and Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams are reportedly among their customers.
