Bedford Attack - Mistaken Identity?

25 January 2013, 06:00

Detectives in Bedford are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was attacked in a house by a group of men.

The 20 year-old victim received serious injuries from the five offenders who barged into the house he was staying in College Road, Bedford, late on Monday night (Jan 21).

The victim was visiting a friend when the offenders called at the property, sometime between 9pm and 2am. He was hospitalised following the assault but has since returned home to recover from his injuries.

The offenders are described as a mixture of black, white and Asian men aged around 20. DC Luke Moore, investigating, is keen to speak to anyone who was in the College Road area that night who may have seen the group or heard a disturbance.

DC Moore told Heart: "This appears to be a motiveless attack on a man who was visiting this house. It may be a case of mistaken identity but I am keen to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident or was in the area between 9pm and 2am."

If you have information relating to this incident, contact DC Moore, in confidence, on 01234 275011, the non-emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011. Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
