Bedfordshire Police Officer Charged With Rape

A Bedfordshire Police Officer has been charged with rape, ABH and sexual assault.

Paul Kelly from Bedford Road in Denton, Northamptonshire works as an Inspector in Bedford and has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of ABH and one count of sexual assault. 

Mr Kelly was suspended from duty on December 23rd 2013. 

The 43 year old has been released on bail and is due to appear before St Albans Magistrates on April 7, 2014.

Bedfordshire Police say they take allegations of any misconduct extremely seriously.
