Cyclist Dies In Road Collision

A 26 year old female cyclist has been killed after a road traffic collision in Edworth Road near Langford in Bedfordshire yesterday

The collision happened at 10.45am and involved the cyclist and a red Rover MG ZR car.

The 29 year old man who was driving the car was not injured but the cyclist died at the scene.

Details of the deceased will be released once H M Coroner has opened an inquest.

A full collision investigation is being undertaken to ascertain the cause of the collision and PC Andy Ralph, leading the investigation, is keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision but has not yet contacted the police.

PC Ralph, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Collision Investigation Unit, said: "The cyclist was with other members of a cycling club when the collision happened and although a number of people did stop and are already helping with this investigation I would ask anyone else who witnessed the collision to also speak to the police."
