Police in Luton are appealing for help in finding a woman who threw a glass at a birthday party in Luton, injuring a two year old girl.
It happened at the Royal British Legion Club in Marsh Road on Saturday, March 16 between 11.30pm and 11.45pm.
A family birthday party was being hosted in the club when an unknown woman who was sitting at the bar became verbally abusive towards party goers.
She threw the glass at the doors to the location, just missing a woman who was walking in the front entrance, but shards of the glass hit a 2 year old girl who was sitting in her pushchair close by.
The woman is described as white, approximately 25 years old, 5’2” tall with a medium build and black curly hair, wearing a black cap with a red logo, a grey hooded top, blue jeans and red Adidas training shoes. She left the premises and got into a taxi.
PC Jenny Buckley, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who can help identify the woman involved and the taxi driver who picked her up from the club.
PC Buckley said: “The little girl had to attend hospital for treatment to two cuts to her head. She is now recovering but we need to trace anyone who can help identify the woman responsible and we hope the taxi driver will remember collecting a fare from the club that night and come forward with information that will help this inquiry.”
If you have information relating this crime you can contact PC Buckley, in confidence, at Bedfordshire Police on 101 or text information to 07786 200011.
