The family of a 15-year-old boy killed after the car he was a passenger in hit a tree in Newbury has paid tribute to him.

Charlie Townsend has been described by his family as kind, loving and funny.

He was one of four teenagers in the car that crashed on Wheatlands lane in the early hours of Monday morning.

Charlie's family have released this statement:

"We are utterly devastated at the loss of Charlie, our loving, kind and funny boy who had so much potential to make a difference in the world. He will forever be remembered and always in our hearts.

"We ask that people and in particular the media respect the privacy of our family at this very difficult time."
