Cases of the winter vomitting bug Norovirus - has lead bosses at two north Hampshire hospitals to limit visiting times.

The Andover War Memorial Hospital and the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital say following cases of sickness and diarrhoea at both sites - visiting hours have been restricted to between 6:30pm and 7:30pm only.

Medical staff have told Heart it's to restrict the possible transmission and help prevent further cases.

Both hospitals say they don't currently have any wards closed but do need the public's help, to help them to continue to protect patients from sickness by not visiting within 48 hours of having any symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting or flu-like illness.

It is also advisable that young children and elderly people avoid visiting.

The nurse in charge of each ward should be contacted if friends and families are concerned about visiting arrangements.

The contact details for each ward can be found on www.hampshirehosptials.nhs.uk, on the homepage under A-Z Wards
