A 21 year-old man's been taking to Addenbrooke's Hospital after suffering what police have described as a "nasty attack".

The victim was assaulted in Jesus Green as he walked home shortly after 3 o'clock on Saturday morning.

He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Andy Day told Heart: "This was a nasty attack on a man as he walked home from a night out in Cambridge.

It appears entirely unprovoked and being treated as an isolated incident.

However, we would urge people to take sensible precautions when out late at night such as walking with friends and keeping to well-lit areas.

We are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about who is responsible."

Anyone with any information should call DC Day on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
