A woman has fought off two robbers after being attacked in an alleyway in Cambridge.

Cambridgeshire Police say the 19 year old victim was walking near the community centre in Campkin Road at around 2:15pm on Tuesday (14 May).

Two men grabbed her handbag, but the woman didn't let go and managed to fight the men off.

She looked up to see two Asian men running off.

One of the men is described as Asian, about 20, six foot and wearing a dark grey tracksuit, with the hood up, and black trainers.

The other was about 18, six foot, thin and wearing a light grey tracksuit with the hood up.

Detective Constable Amie Meston said: "The victim showed great bravery to fight off the robbers.

I would urge anyone who recognises the descriptions or saw anyone in the area acting suspiciously to call police."

Anyone with any information should call DC Meston on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111
