Eight Arrests Following CCTV Release

Eight people have been arrested after police released CCTV images following a disturbance in Cambridge on Tuesday night.

It brings the total number of people arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident to 13.

The arrests on Thursday include:

A man aged 22,

Two men aged 20,

Three men aged 19,

Two boys aged 15.

On Wednesday, a 16 year old boy two 18 year old men, a 19 year old man and a 20 year old man were arrested.

The arrests come after officers were called to Midsummer Common in Cambridge at around 11:35pm on Tuesday night.

Between 30 and 40 young people had gathered on the green and were said to be making their way to the nearby Grafton Centre.

Two officers were hurt when some members of the group threw items, including rubbish, at police.

The Cambridgeshire Police helicopter was also called into action during the disturbance.
