Ely: Woman Dies After Three Vehicle Crash

A 25 year old woman from Ely has died following a three vehicle crash on the A10, at Little Thetford.
The collision happened last night (October 23rd) at around 7:45pm near Broad Baulk, north of Stretham.
The woman, who hasn’t been named as formal identification hasn’t yet taken place, was the front seat passenger in a blue Honda Civic. A three year old girl, who was also in the car, has serious but not life threatening injuries. She was taken to Addenbrookes hospital where she remains.
The driver of the vehicle, a 43 year old man from Ely, suffered serious but not life threatening injuries.
The drivers of the other two cars involved, a Volvo and Renault Megane, didn’t suffer any injuries. However two passengers, a 34 year old woman and a 7 year old boy, have minor injuries.
The road was closed for several hours.
A 43 year old man from Ely has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit from either drink or drugs. He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Sergeant Paul Tanner at the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting incident 552.

Cambridgeshire Police have named the woman killed in the crash as 25 year old Tania Macedo, from Welland Place in Ely.
The man arrested following the crash remains in custody.

The man arrested, has been bailed by police, until 19th December 2013.
