Huntingdonshire District Council has launched a website to keep residents up to date with a project aiming to demonstrate how environmentally-friendly houses can be.

Work has already started to retrofit two houses in the area with cost-effective energy and water efficient materials and appliances.

The new website shows details on the work that is being done.

The idea is to show homeowners how to reduce their own carbon footprint and make their home more energy efficient.

Jonathan Gray, executive councillor for environment and information technology said: "This is a fantastic website with a whole range of information available on sustainable refurbishment.

I encourage people to take a look and get involved in the discussions.

If we are to tackle climate change effectively, we need to engage with and demonstrate to homeowners, tenants, schools, builders and tradesmen how and why this must be done."
