Littleport: Fire Death Not Suspicious

Cambridgeshire Police have confirmed the death of a man, whose body was found following a house fire in Littleport, is not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to Kingsmead Court at 11:50am on Sunday (18 August).

People living nearby reported hearing explosions.

The following day (Monday) Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that a man's body had been discovered inside the property.

Nobody else was hurt in the fire.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the circumstances around the death of the man are not being treated as suspicious.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing, according to Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.

An inquest into the death of the man is expected to be opened and adjourned today (Thursday).
