Long Delays After A14 Lorry Smash

A lorry driver has been taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A14 this morning.

At around 4:15am, it's thought a lorry left the A14 near the Spittals Interchange and slid into a ditch.

Rescue and recovery work has been taking place since then.

As a result, the A14 west-bound has been closed between Junction 24 for Godmanchester and Junction 23 for the A1126 at Spittals.

Reports suggest the travel time along that stretch of the A14 is around one hour 30 minutes.

Diversions are in place, but Cambridgeshire Police say the best advice is to avoid the area if at all possible.
