Thieves have used a digger to try and steal cash machines from a supermarket in Newmarket.
Police were called to Tesco in Fordham Road at 3:15am on Sunday (7 July).
Officers were responding to reports that a JCB had been used to remove ATMs from the building.
Suffolk Police say the offenders were disturbed by staff at the store and ran off, leaving the cash machines behind.
Police are currently unsure if any other property or money was taken.
A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: "No one was injured during the incident but significant structural damage was caused to the property and a police cordon is currently in place.
The offenders are described as three men.
Two were seen to run off in the direction of disused land adjacent to the store, and the third ran across the car park towards Fordham Road.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101."
