Newmarket Shooting

Five men have been arrested after a shooting near Newmarket last night (Thursday).

Police got reports a vehicle was shot at in Willow Park, Beck Row at 7:15pm.

No-one was hurt.

Later that evening, a 42 year old from London and a 39 year old from Spain men were arrested at Newmarket Police Station on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

They remain in custody and are being questioned.

Another three men were then arrested around Beck Row.

A 74 year old from the Mildenhall area was arrested on suspicion of an offensive weapon, and a 28 year old and 38 year old, both also from the Mildenhall area, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police believe that the persons involved all know each other.

Officers are in the Beck Row area today to carry out further inquiries and support residents.
