24 cars have been damaged at Stansted Airport after a fire in the long stay car park.

It happened early on Bank Holiday Monday in Zone C and investigators say it's likely an electrical fault in one of the vehicles is to blame and it's not being treated as suspicious.

Most of the owners of the cars affected have yet to arrive back from holidays, but the airport's told Heart they'll pay for taxis to get people home.

Essex Police have confirmed that the fire is not believed to have been started deliberately, and has handed it's investigation over to the airport.

Passengers returning to Stansted to find their car has been damaged in the fire are being asked to speak to a member of staff in the car park.
