Strawberry Fair: What's On?

35,000 people are expected to decend onto Cambridge's Midsummer Common this Saturday for the Strawberry Fair. Here's what's on...

Background: Strawberry Fair is a free volunteer run community music, entertainments, arts and crafts fair. The Fair takes place every year in the first week of June and is set in the heart of Cambridge on Midsummer Common.

What's on: 

Village Green: Open air arena with a range of displays including a parade, battle re-enactments and a "Knockout" style battle between fair organisers and police.

Colonel Maybey's Mechanical Menagerie: Punk town music arena featuring performances throughout the day.

Wild Strawberry Cabaret: Mix of dance, music and burlesque arts. Cabaret for over 18s only.

The Kid's Area: Hosted in a fenced-off area of the common, entertainment for children.

The Acoustic Tent: Instrumental jam sessions, folk and acoustic performances.

Strawberry Parade: Showcasing costumes,dance, music and culture involving hundreds of people.

The Wigwam Stage: Celebrating 20 years of Strawberry Fair with a mix of music ranging from traditional rock and roll to classical quartets.

Strawberry Shorts Film Festival: (Evening of Friday 3rd June) Portland Arms Marquee, Midsummer Common, from 7pm.
