A tiger escape alarm panicked families during an Easter egg hunt over the weekend.

Families enjoying an Easter egg hunt at a wildlife park were hurried inside after pranksters set off the 'tiger escape' alarm.

Around 500 people at the event at Shepreth Wildlife Park, on Saturday had to be rounded up for safety.

But keepers soon discovered it was a false alarm and the two tigers and one puma had not left their pens.

Curator Rebecca Willers said: "It was not done by accident. The button has a flap over it, so it was deliberate, but we did not catch the culprit."
