A Cornish Councillor who resigned back in February after making a controversial comment about disabled children, hopes to be re-elected.
Nominations have now closed for the those standing in Cornwall Council's May elections and seems 68 year old Colin Brewer hopes to be re-elected as an independent candidate for the Wadebridge East ward, after resigning just two months ago
He faced criticism for saying all disabled children should be put down because they cost the authority too much money, back in 2011 - He made comments to a Disability Cornwall member at a stall at County Hall in Truro
The comments came to light following a report by the council's standards committee after the charity made a formal complaint.
Then earlier this year the council member faced a storm of criticism from disabled people, their carers and campaigners, including former glamour model Katie Price, whose son Harvey is disabled.
Those who are nominated to stand for the same seat as Mr Brewer in Wadebridge East are;
Brian Aubone Bennetts - The Conservative Party Candidate
Roderick Harrison - UK Independence Party (UK I P)
Adrian Darrell Jones - Labour Party Candidate
Steve Knightley - Liberal Democrat
Sarah Hannah Maguire - Independent
