£600k Seized From Dorset Drugs Gang

Five men, jailed for dealing drugs across Dorset, have had more than half a million pounds confiscated by police.

On Friday 6 June 2014 at Bournemouth Crown Court, Scott Woods, 25, Guy Anning, 22, Dean McLeod, 33, Stewart Davidson, 29 and Ashley Smith, 29, were sentenced to a total of 35 years and nine months in jail for conspiring to supply class A drugs.
 
Following a further appearance at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 31 October, the men have been ordered to pay back the ill-gained funds using the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
 
The amounts to be paid are as follows:
 
Anning - £142,109.32
McLeod - £78,560.05
Davidson - £78,380
Smith - £78,480

Woods was ordered to pay £213,185 within the next six months or attend court to oppose the decision. If he fails to do this he will face another three years in jail and the outstanding amount will still be payable.
 
Detective Sergeant Andrew Kennard, of Dorset Police’s Economic Crime Unit, said:

“These men were arrested in October and November 2012 following an extensive investigation led by Dorset Police’s Major Crime Team. The investigation unveiled a comprehensive conspiracy to supply a class A drugs across the county of Dorset.
 
“Dorset Police does not tolerate drug dealing and we will take every opportunity to deprive criminals of their illegal gain.
 
“We will use all the powers available to us to ensure that anyone convicted of drug dealing is dealt with robustly by the criminal justice system and by the courts using Proceeds of Crime Act legislation.”
