£65k Of Antique Silver Stolen From Shop

Police in Sherborne are investigating a high-value burglary at an antique silver dealer shop in the town.

Officers attended a report of an alarm at the Henry Willis Antique Silver shop along Cheap Street, at 3.16am on Saturday, 22 October 2011 and discovered that a large number of valuable collectibles had been stolen.

Burglarss had ransacked the shop and taken most of the contents. The total value of stolen goods is around £65,000.

Police Constable Dermot Shanahan, of Sherborne Police, said:

“I am now able to release images of some of the stolen items.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this burglary or who noticed anything unusual in the area on the morning of 22 October to call police urgently.

“Also, I am especially keen to trace a vehicle – a black large saloon BMW with a possible index of ‘A1’ or ‘K1’ – which was seen in the area at the time.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who has been offered antique silver in unusual circumstances or for unusual low prices.”
