Appeal After Armed Raid On G4S Van In Poole

Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after offenders attacked a G4S security van in the Parkstone area of the town.

The incident took place between 10pm and 10.30pm on Monday 3 September 2012 outside the Nationwide on Ashley Road, Poole.

Two security guards were attacked by two suspects who used a bladed instrument and a heavy instrument - a quantity of cash was stolen. The security guards have been treated for minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Mark Samuel, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:

"Incidents such as these are rare however this was a violent and well organised attack.

"It happened at a time when there were a number of people in the area who may have seen something that can help our investigation.

"In particular we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a dark or grey coloured BMW car, possibly a Series 1 model, either parked up in vicinity of the crime, driving away or acting suspiciously.

"I urge anyone with any information to contact Dorset Police on 101 in the strictest confidence."
