Bournemouth Beach Clean-Up
9 March 2014, 09:40
Following the success of the recent litter picks along the beach, Bournemouth Council's seafront team have organised another to take place this weekend (Sunday 9 March).
Bournemouth residents are being invited to come to Southbourne beach this Sunday from 10.30am.
All necessary equipment will be provided by the Council including hi visibility vests, bags, gloves and litter grabbers to help carry out the clean up, but if you have any those items please bring them along.
Recent litter picks have taken place at Boscombe Pier and Fisherman?s Walk with hundreds of people offering their help to clear away litter which has built up on the beach as a result of the severe weather last month.
Chris Saunders, seafront manager, said:
"The response from members of the public to the recent litter picks has been fantastic and we really appreciate everyone who has given up their time to help. We hope even more people are able to come along this Sunday and help return our award winning beaches back to their best."
