Detectives in Bournemouth now say the death of a man in the Westbourne area of the town wasn't suspicious.
At 8.40am on Sunday 28 September 2014 Dorset Police were told a man had collapsed in a communal hallway of flats in Commercial Road.
Officers attended together with the ambulance service and discovered 44-year-old local man, Daniel Sanford, with a serious head injury. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he died at 7pm.
Detectives launched an investigation into how he suffered his injury, but now say they're not treating his death as suspicious.
A spokesman for Dorset police said:
“Dorset Police initially investigated the death of Daniel Sanford as unexplained. Officers have undertaken extensive enquiries, including a post-mortem.
"Further tests are being finalised.
"However, at this time there is no evidence of criminality and Dorset Police is not looking for anyone else in connection with this case.”
