Busy New Year For Emergency Crews

It was a busy start to the New Year for Dorset's emergency teams.

Dorset Fire Service says it had loads of calls in the early hours - most were false alarms over Chinese lanterns.

Many of the lanterns had become stuck on roofs and people were worried they'd set houses on fire.

A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue again asked that if people have to set off lanterns they needed to act responsibly and ensure they do not land on bushes or houses which could spark a fire.
