Officers in Dorchester discovered a cannabis factory while on foot patrol in London Road on Friday 31 August 2012.
At approximately 11.45pm officers walking along London Road detected a strong smell of cannabis coming from a flat.
The officers knocked on the door of the property and were allowed to enter by the occupants. When inside the flat, the officers discovered that cannabis was being cultivated there.
A quantity of cannabis plants were seized from the property.
A 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Dorchester, were arrested and have been cautioned.
Dorchester and Sherborne Neighbourhood Inspector Les Fry said:
"This was an excellent piece of detection work by the two police officers involved.
"We will not tolerate drugs offences, and as this incident shows, we will proactively take action to disrupt drug-related crime.
"I would encourage members of the public who have any knowledge or concerns about suspected drugs offences in their area to contact Dorset Police on 101."
