Car Damaged In Poole Hit And Run

Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fail to stop road traffic collision in the Hamworthy area of the town.

At approximately 3.00am on Saturday 20 October 2012 a road traffic collision between a small silver vehicle and a parked black BMW coupe occurred along Symes Road. 

The driver of the vehicle, possibly a Citroen or Peugeot, left the scene without leaving any details. 

Police Constable Dave Cotterill, of Poole police, said: 

"The silver car collided with the nearside of the BMW causing extensive damage. 

"The near side wing mirror of the offending vehicle was left at the scene and the vehicle will have extensive damage to this area. 

"I am appealing for anyone who has witnessed the incident or has any information about the collision to call Dorset Police as soon as possible. 

"I also urge the driver in question to do the right thing and speak with the police. 

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
