CCTV Appeal After Alleged Kidnap In Poole

Detectives in Poole are renewing their appeal for the victim and anyone with information to come forward after an alleged kidnap in the Canford Cliffs area of Poole – with two pictures of the victim's father being released.

At about 4pm on Saturday, 2 July 2011, a young boy, approximately four to six years old, with blond hair was standing at a bus stop with his father in Haven Road when a man allegedly grabbed the child and ran off into Mauley Road.

The father reportedly chased after the man and grabbed his child back.

The father and the boy were seen to leave the scene a few minutes later on the number 50 bus.

Detective Constable James Taylor, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said:

"We have not been able to trace the boy's father so far.

"By releasing this CCTV image we hope to identify him and would urge him or anyone who recognises him to contact police as soon as possible."

Police added that enw information leads them to believe the boy's family are from Winchester in Hampshire.

The boys father got onto the No.50 bus

A 24-year-old Poole man, Ryan Merna, was arrested and charged for kidnap.
