Denise Van Outen Unveils New Scanner

Denise Van Outen officially opened the new mammogram machine at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital on Thursday, February the 21st.

The scanner's new technology is said to take less time to do mammograms, be more comfortable for patients and provide a better quality of image. It also uses a lower radiation dose than the standard procedure.

David McNair, Director of Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, said: "As an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care, Denise was our first choice to officially open the new suite and we are delighted that she has accepted our invitation to raise awareness of the detection and treatment of this disease."

The introduction of this system is the first phase in proposed plans to update the hospital with state-of-the-art technology. The works, which are due to start in mid-summer 2013, will include an extension to accommodate three theatres on the one floor.

David adds: "Nuffield Health's investment into this new equipment will cement Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital as the leading hospital in the area with modern facilities and high quality governance along with clinical excellence."
