First Wedding On Bournemouth Beach

Bournemouth beach hosts its first ever wedding today (Friday 27th April).

The company Beach Weddings Bournemouth got a licence last year to hold weddings or civil partnerships on Bournemouth beach.

This morning, the first couple have tied the knot there.

It's the first time in England and Wales that a couple can have their legal wedding or civil partnership ceremony on the sand.

Over this weekend, a special event's giving people the chance to see what a wedding on Bournemouth Beach would involve.

From 10am until 4pm on Saturday and 12noon until 4pm Sunday you will have the opportunity to visit the Beach Weddings Bournemouth marquee and The Wedding Hut.
