Injured Turtle Given Diving Belt
A sea turtle injured in a boat collision in Florida and now living at the Turtle Sanctuary at Weymouth Sea Life has been fitted with a specially-tailored dive-belt.
Ali the green turtle suffered spinal damage in the accident which left him with a deformed shell and robbed him of the vital ability to dive.
Rescuers glued weights to his shell to try and fix the problem, but the poor condition of Ali's carapace prevents the special glue used from sticking properly.
His new dive-belt has pockets for weights and should be the perfect solution.
The fitting of Ali's unique new dive-aid should enable him to dive like other sea turtles.
