Investigation After Crash Involving Pregnant Woman

A heavily pregnant woman claims paramedics refused to take her to hospital after a car crash in Poole.

Yolanda Humphrey. who was 33 weeks pregnant at the time was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident on Tatnam Crescent in Poole on the 30th July 2013.

The 30 year old from Canford Heath says that the ambulance crew who attended the scene didn't examine her and refused to take her to hospital despite her complaints of stomach pains. She then claimed she was left waiting on a bench while her husband left work to come and collect her and take her into Poole hospital, where she was kept in overnight for observation.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: "We aim to provide the most appropriate and best possible care to every one of our patients so take this matter very seriously and an investigation is underway.

"We will continue to maintain contact with Mrs Humphrey and her family so we can share our findings with them."
