Jogger's Jaw Broken In Attack

A jogger's had his jaw broken and eye socket fractured, in a seemingly unprovoked attack in Poole.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the assault in the Parkstone area of the town, at around 6.30pm on Friday 12 July along Spur Hill Avenue and Birchwood Road.

It's reported the victim, a 34-year-old Poole man, was out jogging when he was approached by two unknown men and punched repeatedly.

He sustained a broken jaw as well as a fractured cheekbone and eye socket.

Detective Sergeant Shaun Inkpen, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:

"I need to establish what exactly happened.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this alleged attack, or may have information about those involved to contact Dorset Police in confidence.

"I would also like to speak with anyone who may have seen a group of youths in the area prior to the reported assault taking place."

Two 16-year-old boys, one from Bournemouth and another from Christchurch, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail pending further enquiries.
