Man Hunted Over Nightclub Attack

Police in Christchurch investigating a serious assault that occurred outside a nightclub in the town have released a picture of a man that they would like to speak with.

The incident, in which a member of door staff at Club Epic in Bargates was attacked by a man, happened at around 3.45am on Sunday 25 November 2012.

Door staff asked a group of men to leave the club following a request from the manager. While being shown to the exit a disturbance broke out and spilled onto the street.

A man from Poole was punched and bitten, suffering a serious injury to his ear which later required an operation at Salisbury Hospital.

Detective Constable Scott Brimicombe, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a particularly nasty attack on a man which has left him with a serious injury.

“I now have available a CCTV image of a man who I believe can help us with our investigation.

“I urge him to come forward and speak to us as I am keen to establish exactly what happened.

“We believe the man responsible left the scene in a taxi.

“During the incident the offender was sprayed with red criminal identifier paint by the victim, which would have proved very difficult to remove from skin and clothing for a number of days.

“Witnesses and anyone with any information, or anyone who recognises this man pictured should phone Dorset Police on 101 in strict confidence.”
