Man Hurt In 'Nasty Attack' In Bournemouth

Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted in the town.

The incident, in which a 29-year-old man sustained a fractured jaw, happened outside Snappy Tomato Pizza on Exeter Road shortly after 3am this morning, Friday 10 February 2012.

The victim, from Bournemouth, was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Liz Westaway, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim had been enjoying a night out with his friends and had only just left Klute, a nearby bar, prior to the assault.

“He now requires surgery as a result of this nasty attack.

“I understand that two white men, aged in their twenties, were seen walking away from this area in the direction of the BIC – one of these men was wearing a black shirt. 

“These men may have information that will be help me with my investigation and I would urge them to come forward and speak with police.

“I am also appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault, and anyone with any information about this incident, to contact us, in confidence, as soon as possible.”
