Masked Burglar Attacks Homeowner

A Bournemouth man's recovering after a burglar broke into his house and attacked him.

It happened at approximately 9.45pm on Monday 5 August 2013 at an address along Christchurch Road.

A man got in through a window and attacked a man in his 60s, before stealing some keys and leaving the house through the front door.

The victim needed hospital treatment for minor injuries to his arm, chest and leg.

Police Constable Jon Sainsbury, of Bournemouth CID, said:

“The offender is described as between five feet ten inches and six feet tall, of slim build and it is believed that he was wearing thick white tights over his face with two holes cut out for his eyes.

“It is possible members of the public were around at the time and I am appealing for anyone who saw this man, or recalls any suspicious activity in the area at the time, to come forward.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101 as soon as possible, all calls are treated with the strictest confidence.”

No arrests have been made.
