Massive Fire At School In Poole
More than 35 firefighters have been tackling a fire at Buckholme Towers School in Poole.
Crews were called to the school in Lower Parkstone shortly before 3am today (Tuesday 12 March).
Heart's been told no-one was hurt but the fire has damaged the first and second floors of the building.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but police say it isn't suspicious.
Head teacher Iain Robertson said: "This is a very sad day in the history of Buckholme Towers School, but we must not lose sight of the fact that this is only a building.
"It is the children that are at the heart of the school and the most important thing is that they are safe. We are working to ensure there is minimal disruption to their education."
Police closed the A35 in the area this morning while fighters worked to get the fire under control.
Daylight showed the extent of the damage..
