Motorcyclist Dies In Crash Near Dorchester

Police are investigating a fatal motorbike crash in Dorset.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said:

"At 1.38pm today, Monday 18 November 2013, Dorset Police received a report of a fatal road traffic collision at Swallows Rest on the Ridgeway, near Dorchester.

"A green Kawasaki motorbike was in a collision with a red Suzuki Swift car. The rider of the motorbike, a 50-year-old man from Weymouth, sadly died at the scene.

"Next of kin and the Coroner have been informed.

"The driver of the Suzuki, a 52-year-old man from Dorchester, was taken to Dorset County Hospital with minor injuries.

"Any witnesses to the incident or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to the collision are asked to contact PC Kevin Farenden from the Traffic Unit on 101 quoting the incident number 18:208."
