Police Search After Man's Death

Dorset Police is investigating after the death of a man pulled from the sea in Bournemouth.

Emergency crews were called to the water near Versuvio at Alum Chine at around 7.40 this morning.

The beach from Poole to Bournemouth pier was closed while officers carried out searches earlier but has since reopened.

Dorset Police said: "Officers and ambulance arrived at the scene and the man was confirmed dead.

"He has not yet been identified.

"Investigations are ongoing and the death is currently being treated as unexplained."
