Police Think Body Is Missing Bridport Man

Police searching for a missing Bridport man have found a body.

62-year-old Phillip Guppy was last seen in the town on Sunday 1st December. He was spotted at the Crown Inn on West Bay Road and witnesses said he seemed to be in good spirits.

His disappearance was described as completely out of character.

Police, coastguards and other volunteers have been searching the River Brit as well as undergrowth and they made the discovery on the morning of Wednesday 4th December.

His family and the coroner have been notified.
