Five men, arrested over an assault and hit and run in Poole which left a man needing hospital treatment, have been released on bail.
Police were called at around 10am on Thursday 13 November to the viewing point in Sea View Road in Parkstone, following reports that a man had been struck by a car and assaulted by several men from the same vehicle.
The vehicle involved in the incident has been described as a silver VW car, possibly a Golf or a Polo.
The victim, a 33-year-old Poole man, sustained a leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roberts, of Bournemouth CID, said:
“The incident happened in a busy area of Poole and I urge anyone who saw what happened to contact me.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who saw a silver VW car, possible a Golf or Polo, being driven in the area before or after the incident.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
Five men, aged in their 20s, were arrested on Friday (14 November), in the Avon and Somerset area on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.
A 30-year-old from Bournemouth, two men from Liverpool, aged 18 and 22, and two men from Runcorn, aged 19 and 29, have been released on bail until the end of January pending further enquiries.
