Robbers Attack Worker At Dorset Hotel

Police are investigating a robbery at a hotel in Ferndown.

A member of staff was attacked by two men before money was stolen from a safe at the Premier Inn along Ringwood Road, at around 11.50pm on Sunday, 10th July 2011.

The male member of staff sustained minor injuries.

Police Constable Chris Raspini, of the Priority Crime Team, said:

“Two offenders approached the victim, knocked him to the ground and stole his keys. They then entered offices, accessed the safe and stole a quantity of money – the amount of which is not being released.

“Both robbers left the area in an old-style white Vauxhall Astra, with black roof bars and a sunroof. This vehicle was driven by a third unknown person.”

One of the robbers is white, around five feet ten inches tall and of a heavy set build.

He was wearing a cream or white long-sleeved top with dark stripes on the arms, dark blue jeans and dark footwear.

The second robber is also white. He was wearing a white baseball cap and dark clothing.

PC Raspini continued:

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this distressing incident, and anyone who either witnessed this vehicle or saw men matching these descriptions in the Ferndown area, to contact me as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information should call Dorset Police – in confidence – urgently.”
